Honor 6X will be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat in the second quarter of the year

Earlier today, Honor announced its third phone that's officially coming to the US: the Honor 6X. The handset is launching on January 15, with pre-orders going live starting tomorrow, January 4.

Unfortunately, just like Samsung's Galaxy A (2017) series and some of LG's new K series phones, the Honor 6X will run Android 6 Marshmallow at launch - despite the fact that Android 7 Nougat has been available since August. Nevertheless, Honor said that the 6X would get an update to Android Nougat, and we now have a time frame for that.
