With 2016 gone, so is WhatsApp support for various operating systems

Once the final seconds of 2016 ran down and 2017 started, messaging app WhatsApp started implementing a previously announced plan to drop support for older smartphone operating systems. For example, those using iOS 6 or lower now can not use WhatsApp. Windows Phone 7 is no longer supported by the Facebook-owned app, nor are devices running Android 2.1 and Android 2.2.

Most of you out there don't have to worry about this change since it affects handsets that not too many people are currently using. For example, iOS 6 is the last version of Apple's mobile OS that runs the Apple iPhone 3GS. ...
