Sony Mobile is the next major smartphone company to released Android 7.1.1 Nougat for some of its products. The first handsets Sony picked for this occasion are the Xperia XZ and Xperia X Performance, two phones that made their debut on the market last year, both shipping with Android 6.0 Marshmallow on board.The update contains the latest April security patch, as well as some improvements in the app shortcuts area. Since the Xperia Home launcher does not feature app shortcuts support, Sony fine-tuned it to make it work in this update.
