IBM Research Alliance Announces 5nm GAAFET Chip With 40% Performance Increase Over 10nm FinFET Chips

IBM Research Alliance, which includes Samsung and Global Foundries, announced the development of the first 5nm GAAFET chip, which should enable either a 40% performance increase or a 75% power consumption reduction over existing 10nm chips.
