Samsung overtakes Fitbit in wearable sales

Fitbit used to be a powerhouse on the wearable market. However, it seems to be struggling recently. Back in May, it was made known that Apple had claimed the top spot in worldwide wearable sales, thanks to its Apple Watch line, and now the research company Strategy Analytics claims that Samsung has pushed Fitbit to third place in Q1 2017.

Samsung had a market share of just 6.6% in Q2 2016, which raised to 7.5% in Q3 the same year. In Q4 it kept growing, reaching over 10% and according to the latest data, it hit 12.8% in the first quarter of this year.
