Samsung's flagships smartphones started at $500 for the original Galaxy S, to the rumored nearly $1000 tag for the fast-approaching Galaxy S9+. That's doubling of the launch price in the span of 8 years, a bit shorter period than Apple's double trouble going from $500 for the OG iPhone, to $999 for the iPhone X.
