
Apple, the stray dog of mobile biometric solutions, won't be employing anything resembling in-display Touch ID for the foreseeable future, and this is coming from reputed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. We kid, but apparently Apple is betting on the face instead of finger recognition for its security purposes, at least until the whole screen is able to serve as one giant fingerprint scanner.
That milestone, according to the analyst, won't be reached before the last quarter of 2019, so next year's iPhones will still count on the TrueDepth camera for unlocking and payment authorization ...
