Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for Google Nexus 6 to be released in January

Now over 2 years old, the Motorola-made Nexus 6 is the oldest smartphone that's still receiving software updates from Google. The handset got a taste of Android 7.0 Nougat in October, and it's also getting the newer Android 7.1.1 - but not this year. 

According to Android Police, Google wanted to update the Nexus 6 to Android 7.1.1 Nougat this month - at the same time with other Nexus models - but found a "last minute bug." While Google fixed the problem, it's not yet ready to release the 7.1.1 update, instead scheduling it for a roll out beginning early January. ...
