Apple's "Visual/Mechanical Inspection Guide" (or VMI) leaked out recently, and for the first time we are getting a sneak peak into the decision-making tree that the Apple Store reps have to go through to determine whether an iPhone brought for repair will be serviced under warranty, out-of-warranty, or will be denied service at all.
