Fitbit didn't exactly strike gold with its first-ever full-fledged smartwatch back in 2017, but 2018's cheaper and arguably prettier Versa was an instant hit, helping the company return to profitability (sort of) while also considerably boosting its US presence.
Unfortunately, the even cheaper Fitbit Versa Lite Edition wasn't able to keep the brand ahead of Samsung in global smartwatch shipments, which is why an actual sequel to the original Versa with important battery life improvements and built-in Alexa assistance is apparently gearing up for a commercial debut.
