Apple's "Get a Mac" actor now represents Huawei in the US

Actor Justin Long, who starred in Apple’s iconic “Get a Mac” ad campaign in the mid 2000s has switched sides and is now representing Huawei in its efforts to gain traction in the US tech market. Oh, how things have changed.

From 2006 to 2009, Long personified the Apple brand and somewhat tactfully mocked Bill Gates, Windows, and the PC crowd in general in a series of TV ads. He was a friendly-looking guy in his late 20s, wearing casual clothing, his hands seemingly glued inside the pockets of his jeans in every ad. The campaign was fun for what it was, we think, ...

Samsung Galaxy S8/Plus vs S7/edge specs and design: preliminary comparison

What do you sаy we unleash the unbridled powers of our collective imagination, and try to envision how that rulebreaker of a phone - the Galaxy S8 - will look and behave compared to last year's darling flagship of Samsung, the Galaxy S7? Why not throw the S7 edge in the mix, too, since the S8 is tipped to come with two versions in different display diagonals, but no flat-screen option. Actually, the imagination needn't be that unbridled, as there is plenty of insider info tipped as leaks to various publications already, so we can make a pretty good educated guess as to how the Galaxy S8/Plus ...

Apple App Store grows to 2.2 million apps, records double the revenue of Google Play Store

Apple just had another record quarter posting its highest revenue of all time and selling the most iPhones in a quarter. With 78.3 million iPhones sold and $78.3 billion in revenue, 69% of Apple's business was the iPhone.

But while it is the dominant money pony for the company, there is one other category that has grown tremendously and that now outsells the iPad and will likely soon overtake Mac sales. We're talking about the Services category where Apple bundles its App Store revenue, Apple Pay and iCloud.

The App Store is big business ...

T-Mobile testing Android Nougat for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge

Owners of unlocked Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge devices are already enjoying Android 7.0 all across the globe. However, if you're the owner of a US carrier-locked device, you have yet to receive any of the Nougat sweetness.

And while we have no word on when exactly carrier-locked Galaxy S7/S7 edge devices will be getting Android 7.0, we know that T-Mobile will be rolling it out sooner rather than later. The Un-carrier's website has a page that lists all devices that will get a software update at some point, and that same page also provides the current status of the update. The S7 ...

Google Allo no longer among the top 500 most popular Android apps

Google Allo is on life support.

As Android Police reported earlier today, the messaging app has dropped out of the top 500 or so apps on the Play Store, which essentially means that the public's overall interest in the app has hit a new low. It's not the first time the app has done this, as its popularity has surged a couple of times in December and mid-January due to updates with minor new features. However, it doesn't take a genius to notice that the overall trend is predominantly a downward one.

It took Google's once-promising messenger ...
