The rest of Moto Z2 Force's variants currently cost $500.

Another Motorola phone that's now priced at $299 (down from $499) is the unlocked Moto Z2 Play - this one can be used on all ...

T-Mobile adds more mid-band LTE capacity to prevent heavy traffic from slowing data speed

A tweet from T-Mobile Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Neville Ray revealed that the carrier has expanded its mid-band LTE capacity over the last two weeks. According to the executive, hundreds of sites have been upgraded to make sure that heavy traffic doesn't bog down the wireless provider's data speed. Ray notes that it is this kind of maintenance work that has allowed T-Mobile to have the fastest LTE speeds for four years running.

While T-Mobile is taking care of its wireless capabilities, it also is taking care of business. Just yesterday, the company reported outstanding ...

New Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) video shows all four camera sensors in action

Back on October 11th, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A9 (2018). While a mid-range phone, it does sport a quad-camera setup in the back. Also on the 11th, Samsung released an official television commercial for the Galaxy A9 (2018), which of course focused on the four sensors on the rear of the handset. There is an 8MP Ultra Wide Camera, a 10MP Telephoto Camera, a 24MP Primary Camera, and a 5MP Depth Camera.

The phone is expected to launch on November 15th in select markets, which does not include the U.S. With its release two weeks away, Samsung ...

Huawei's Mate 20 Pro has set a new record for pre-orders in Europe

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro

Over the years, Huawei has often been accused of simply copying its competitors. This year, though, the company has finally begun to carve out its own look with a focus on triple-camera setups and the introduction of gradient finishes. And, from the look of things, this strategy is paying off.

Less than a week after Huawei Mate 20 Pro shipments commenced, the Chinese company has announced that the device has broken its pre-order record by 40% in Western Europe. Previously, the record was held by the P20 Pro which ...

T-Mobile's pricing options for the new iPad Pro (2018) leaked out

T-Mobile confirmed yesterday that it will open pre-orders for the new iPad Pro (2018) on November 2 and that the tablets will be available for purchase in stores on November 7. However, the carrier failed to mention anything about the price tablets' pricing options.

Luckily, the folks over at TmoNews got their hands on an official document that reveals all pricing options for the new iPad Pro (2018). As you can see in the image below, customers have the option to buy the 11-inch or 12.9-inch models and pay on Equipment Installment Plan (EIP), use JUMP! On Demand, or get them for the full ...

Both allow you to purchase the handset in either black or silver. B&H says that this deal is valid only until November 3, while Focus Camera doesn't mention ...

You can now press and hold the new compose icon to access your drafts, photos and the GIF gallery, which adds even more functionality ...

Zynga to launch new Game of Thrones, Harry Potter and Star Wars games

It looks like 2019 shapes up to be a great year for mobile gamers. Zynga, makers of FarmVille, have just revealed their lineup for 2019, which includes at least three high profile IPs: Game of Thrones, Harry Potter and Star Wars.

Zynga has a multi-product licensing agreement with Disney to make a new Star Wars game, with the option for a second new game in the future. The game is already in development and it's likely to be released in 2019.

Additionally, Zynga's licensing agreement with HBO gives the company the rights to develop and publish two new mobile Game of Thrones games. ...

Google names four apps as its 2018 Material Design Award winners

Google's Material Design language used on its apps helps to promote the Google brand by keeping the UI consistent across different platforms. Use of white spaces (so searing sometimes that a "Dark Theme" needs to be added to an app to keep users' retinas from melting), the four Google colors (Blue, Red, Yellow and Green) and Google Sans font are identifying traits of the current design being used by Google on its own apps like Gmail, Keep Notes, Calendar, Google Calendar, Assistant (see image at the top of this article) and more.

Every year Google hands out its Material ...

More people lined up for the OnePlus 6T than for Apple's iPhones, T-Mobile confirms

The OnePlus 6T

When it comes to generating interest among consumers with smartphone launches, Apple undeniably takes the crown. But according to T-Mobile, OnePlus is now giving the world’s most valuable company a run for its money.

As many of you may know, the OnePlus 6T was announced this past Monday in New York. Shortly after the event, T-Mobile opened up sales of the smartphone in its flagship Times Square store three days early. And today, the third-largest carrier has announced that OnePlus’ latest smartphone generated a longer ...

Viber users can edit their sent messages after the latest update

Viber recently released a new update for its Android app, which brings a new feature that's rarely available to messenger users. With the latest version of Viber, users will be able to edit their sent messages, just like you can in Skype.

Also, a couple of other improvements have been implemented, such as a new and improved way to share Viber screenshots with your contacts. The changelog mentions that some performance improvements and bug fixes have been added too, which are supposed to offer users a better Viber experience.

If you own an Android device, you can now long press on ...

The first foldable smartphone is here with a 7.8-inch display, $1300 price tag

The world’s first foldable smartphone is here and, before you ask, no – the device isn’t made by Samsung or LG. In actual fact, it’s produced by a small California-based company and is called the Royole FlexPai.

The brand itself describes the product as the “world’s first commercial foldable smartphone,” but in actual fact, it looks more like a tablet – when unfolded the screen measures 7.8-inches, although this does drop to just 4-inches when folded. The display itself is also ...

Jolla releases Sailfish 3.0 to early adopters, support for Sony Xperia XA2 phones added

Finnish company Jolla has just announced Sailfish 3.0 is now available for download for all users who have opted-in for the early access updates. Moreover, Jolla will expand the Sailfish community program, Sailfish X, with additional improvements next week, and will release the software for various Sony Xperia XA2 models on November 8.

As you can expect, Sailfish 3 will be rolled out in phases, but what's really interesting is that Jolla plans to deploy some many features in several software releases. In any case, if you're not an early adopter, you'll be able to get Sailfish 3.0 in the ...

Apple Watch sales will catapult to 33 million units in 2019, analysts predict

The Apple Watch has gone from strength to strength since its release back in early 2015 but, thanks to the various upgrades that come with the Series 4, sales are expected to catapult over the coming year.

Looking at near-term results, analysts over at UBS are expecting combined Apple Watch Series 1, Series 3, and Series 4 sales to reach 24 million units in 2018. This equates to an average of six million units per quarter and is also significantly higher the 18 million units, or 4.5 million units per quarter, that Apple reportedly shipped in 2017.

Moving into 2019, UBS predicts ...

Last quarter, U.S. consumers spent $329 million on the top ten subscription video apps

Data released on Tuesday by mobile app analysis firm Sensor Tower indicates that U.S. consumers spent $329 million last quarter to subscribe to the top ten most profitable subscription video on demand (SVOD) mobile apps. The apps, which are available in both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, include such well known names as Netflix and Hulu. The $329 million spent on these SVOD apps was a 43% increase year-over-year. As a comparison, overall app revenue rung up by the iOS and Android app stores was up 28% during the July-September period.

The top five ...

WhatsApp confirms Status tab will soon start displaying ads

Back in September, WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton revealed that Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg had monetization plans for the messaging service before the purchase was even complete. Today, following recent speculation, WhatsApp’s Vice President, Chris Daniels, has confirmed that ads will soon be coming to the app.

Set to act as the company’s “primary monetisation mode” and a way in which businesses will be able “to reach people on WhatsApp,” it has been confirmed that ads will soon make their way to the WhatsApp Status feature which, according to Facebook’s most recent financial report, ...

With the iOS 12.1 update, Apple's processor throttling comes to the iPhone 8/Plus and X

Today's lithium batteries are rated for a certain amount of charge cycles before they start degrading in terms of capacity or ability to provide peak current. This simple fact led to a real #batterygate scandal when Apple acknowledged that iPhones with aged or weaker batteries will take a hit in peak performance, in order to preserve their internals better.

Chipsets and other hardware are becoming ever more powerful and demanding, especially Apple's AX line of processors, resulting in going over the fence when trying to extract stronger current from a weaker battery. At that ...

Pocophone F1 or OnePlus 6T: which one would you buy?

By now, you've probably heard of this weirdly-named Pocophone F1. It's made by none other than Chinese giant Xiaomi, who founded a Poco brand to spread its reach in global markets. The first phone to come from that is the Pocophone F1 and what makes it stand out is its incredibly aggressive price. For about $369 in the US, you get a top-shelf Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and a huge, modern-looking (read: has a notch) screen with almost no bezels. Well, it does have a rather unsightly chin, but that's still $369.

Yes, the Pocophone F1 is a bargain for sure, but we've seen this before. ...

Best AR games you should play on your iPhone or Android device (October 2018)

Against all odds, mobile augmented reality seems to have decisively won the war against virtual reality for all the obvious reasons - experiencing the former is way more natural than putting your phone inside a bulky head unit and donning the whole contraption over your head.

With augmented reality, or AR as it's more commonly known, you need to extra accessories to make full use of the technology at hand, making the barrier of entry very low. Of course, you will need a relatively contemporary smartphone that's AR-ready, but seeing how vast swaths of both mid-range and high-end ...

Apple iPhone XR Q&A: Your questions answered!

Sharing tons of features and hardware with its more expensive and premium brethren, the new iPhone XR is very likely to become a fan favorite of those users who are reluctant to upgrade to the iPhone XS or the XS Max but still want a taste of the iPhone experience. Even more so for users of older iPhones which are in need of an upgrade, because let's face it, the XR is just as snappy as the XS and XS Max, although clad in cheaper clothes.

Long story short, a few days ago we gave the chance to ask us anything about the iPhone XR. We just got our hands on a snazzy yellow ...

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is what the Galaxy Note 9 should have been

With the OnePlus 6T launch earlier this week, the most jam-packed month we can remember in terms of high-end, high-profile smartphone announcements has effectively been brought to an end. Although not every single product unveiled over the past few weeks is actually up for grabs around the world, it’s time for people looking to purchase a new flagship handset this holiday season to make their decision.

Android enthusiasts wanting the best of the best, no matter the costs, had a relatively easy choice until the Huawei Mate 20 family went official, trying to overshadow the impressive ...

ZTE's two new affordable phones for the US are a sorry excuse for a comeback

ZTE Blade Max View

ZTE made a surprisingly good impression at the IFA trade show in Berlin a couple of months back after almost going out of business earlier this year, but unfortunately, there’s still no word on Axon 9 Pro US availability.

Instead of that powerhouse or even the quirky new Nubia X, the company will attempt to restore trust among smartphone consumers this side of the pond starting with a pair of ultra-affordable Blade-series devices.

While the Blade X2 Max is probably not happening, a $180 ZTE Blade Max ...

Honor's Magic 2 is the most specc'd-out slider yet, with six cameras and ultra-fast charging

The original Honor Magic was a very intriguing concept phone that was ahead of its time with quadruple display curves from all sides, and a harbinger of the AI buzzword baked in to demo the level of smart automation a phone can bring.

Honor had no plans to launch it outside of China, where it sold for the equivalent of $530, but at the IFA expo back in September, the company teased a successor - Magic 2 - that will see a much wider release, or so they told us.

Well, today is the day of the Honor Magic 2 announcement, and it's the world's first phone ...

Samsung's next wearable could be a hybrid smartwatch

The Samsung Galaxy Watch

Alongside Apple and LG, Samsung is one of just a few companies that has shown a continued interest in smartwatches. But with its next release, the South Korean brand may move in a slightly different direction.

Since Samsung first entered the segment back in 2013, it has stuck to the more traditional smartwatch concept. However, a newly-published patent has revealed that the company is toying with the idea of hybrid watches.

Much like traditional watches, the wearable depicted in the patent sports ...

Sprint loses postpaid phone accounts in fiscal Q2, but still ends up with a net profit

While its prospective merger partner T-Mobile continues to lead the industry in postpaid phone net additions, Sprint is having trouble holding on to its customers in this category. This morning, the nation's fourth largest carrier reported that 34,000 postpaid phone customers dropped the company during the company's fiscal second quarter, which ended in September. Overall, it still added 95,000 net new retail customers and reported net gains in the number of postpaid subscribers for the fifth consecutive quarter.

Sprint says that excluding the $173 million effect of ...

Nokia 6.1 Plus is already the brand's third phone officially updated to Android 9 Pie

HMD Global, the 2016-founded company behind the resurgence of the Nokia brand, may not have the resources to take on Samsung or Huawei in terms of global smartphone shipments, but when it comes to major software updates, the hierarchy is overturned.

The world heavyweight champion of swift Pie promotions strikes again today, as announced by HMD Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas on Twitter, after already bringing the sweet new OS build to the Nokia 7 Plus and non-Plus 6.1.

The Android One-powered Nokia 6.1 Plus that’s being upgraded starting now ran beta tests for a couple ...

Spotify family account holders will get a free Google Home Mini starting tomorrow

Both the Spotify music streaming platform and the ever-growing family of Google Home smart speakers need all the help they can get in trying to fend off Apple and Amazon in their extremely competitive respective industries.

A promotional partnership, unveiled earlier today, seems like the textbook definition of a win-win situation. This will technically come into effect tomorrow, November 1, allowing new and existing Spotify Premium for Family plan master account holders to score a free Google Home Mini through December 31.

The family music streaming service tier was already ...

No-dock DeX support coming to the Galaxy S9!

Up until the summer of 2018, Samsung's DeX interface was only accessible if you had a proprietary dock — a DeX Pad or DeX Station. Plug a Galaxy S or Note in there, add a monitor, keyboard and mouse, and you get a pretty believable desktop machine.

With the Note 9, Samsung made DeX even more accessible — all you need now is a USB Type-C to HDMI cable. Plug the phone straight to a monitor or TV, add a wireless keyboard and use the handset's display as a trackpad (or get a Bluetooth mouse) and you're set.

If you own a Galaxy S9 or S9+, you may feel a bit cheated out that a device ...

Samsung to discuss the UI for its foldable phone next week

A report from Korea's Asiae website states that Samsung plans on revealing next week how its long awaited foldable phone will operate. But the company will disappoint those who were hoping to see a working version of the phone surface at the company's Developer Conference. Instead, Samsung will display the differences in the UI it uses for its regular phones and tablets, and the one it has developed for the device that has now been dubbed the Samsung Galaxy F. Today's news was announced by Samsung executive Lee Kyeong-tae, who mentioned it during the company's conference call pertaining to ...

You can activate the OnePlus 6T on Verizon, but LTE speeds may be slower than with T-Mobile

The OnePlus 6T was announced as the one and only top-end phone from a modern Chinese maker that will not only have retail presence in the US, but also be offered by a US carrier. T-Mobile is the brave first Un-carrier that will be offering the handset in times when the US-China trade relations are at a low point. If the line in front of its Times Square store during the OnePlus 6T takeover the other day is any indication, it might have a veritable hit on its hand, with a good reason.

At a $549 starting price, the glass-clad phone with huge OLED display, top-shelf ...

LG's foldable smartphone will be announced in January at CES 2019

After years of waiting, foldable smartphones are just around the corner. It’s fair to say that the most anticipated of all is the Samsung Galaxy F, but there are actually a number of other companies working on their own alternatives.

Set to launch in the second half of 2019, brands such as Huawei and Xiaomi are preparing smartphones, while Lenovo is working on a tablet that uses an LG display. On the other hand, companies such as Samsung and LG are expected to dominate the first half of the year. The exact release date of these devices still remains unclear, but according to tipster Evan ...

PSA: The OnePlus 6 is still available in the US and still a good deal

The newly unveiled OnePlus 6T is ultimate proof that this 2013-founded company has greatly matured of late, securing the explicit support and marketing proficiency of T-Mobile, as well as Verizon’s more discreet endorsement.

But there might actually be another thing confirming OnePlus is all grown up and ready to take on the mobile industry heavyweights on an equal footing. In case you didn’t notice, you can still purchase the OnePlus 6 from the manufacturer’s US e-store.

All five different versions, coated in “Mirror Black”, “Midnight Black”, and “Silk White”, with ...

AT&T also balks at dual SIM iPhone support as Apple's eSIM hits passive US carrier resistance

Promises, promises. While not explicitly denying support for Apple's newly-minted eSIM and dual-SIM iPhone XR, XS and XS Max functionality, the likes of Verizon and T-Mobile have only issued vague statements that it is coming at a later date.

That's despite Apple rolling out the iOS 12.1 software update that unleashed the dual-SIM features of its new iPhones. Verizon mumbled something in the vein of having to work with Apple to make speed and coverage consistent on the second SIM as well, while T-Mobile just said they'll try and offer support by the end of the year. ...

The Nubia X is a dual screen, dual fingerprint sensor beast you can't buy in the West

One of the things currently preventing smartphone manufacturers from achieving a truly bezel-less design without slide-out tricks or notch compromises is the popularity of front-facing cameras.

Eccentric ZTE offshoot Nubia may have found an... interesting solution to that problem, releasing the Nubia X in China (and only in China) with no conventional selfie shooter. Don’t worry, there’s still a way to cultivate your narcissism, as this “full screen” bad boy also sports a secondary display on its back.

The primary 6.26-inch panel with 2280 x 1080 resolution and a 19:9 aspect ...

Nokia 7 Plus receives new update, brings security improvements

HMD Global, the current manufacturer of Nokia handsets, has a reputation for releasing timely software upgrades to its smartphones. It looks like the company isn't planning on resting on its laurels, as it recently rolled out a new patch to its Nokia 7 Plus model.

The update in question contains the Android Security patch for the month of October. It weighs in at 109.2 MB and, according to NPU, is currently being distributed to devices in India and Sri Lanka. Fixes to exposures found in the system, framework, and media framework are present here, including a mend for a critical ...

You can't beat this refurbished Samsung Gear S3 Frontier deal

If you’re looking for a robust Apple Watch Series 4 alternative with a decent price tag, the $330 and up Samsung Galaxy Watch... doesn’t exactly fit the latter part of that description. But the older Gear S3 smartwatch certainly does, especially if you hurry and get a certified refurbished unit from A4C in exchange for an almost ridiculously low $169.95.

That’s listed as discounted from a “regular” price of $349.95, although retailers like Best Buy are “regularly” charging $250 or so for brand-new units and around $200 a pop if you’re willing to go the refurb route.

Then again, ...

The probability for a T-Mobile merger with Sprint has risen greatly, FCC checks reveal

The proposed merger of Sprint and T-Mobile is currently on the docket, as the FCC froze its self-imposed deadline to comment on the deal, in order to obtain some more data from the two carriers.

The offshoots like Boost, MetroPCS and Virgin, however, are already feeling safe for the future, as T-Mobile execs confirmed that the pre-paid crowd will continue to exist in its current form even after the merger. With so many companies endorsing the deal and writing heartbreaking letters to the FCC how it would actually boost competition, improve rural coverage, and ...

The Apple Watch Series 4's ECG feature is now available to US users (UPDATE: Not really)

The Apple Watch Series 4

UPDATE: Initial reports about the ECG feature being activated on the Apple Watch Series 4 with the WatchOS 5.1 update have been incorrect. ECG will come to the device at a later time. Furthermore, Apple has halted the Watch OS 5.1 update release due to technical issues. Original story follows below.

Since the release of the original Apple Watch back in 2015, Apple has continued to bake health and fitness related features into its popular wearables line. However, with this year’s Series 4 model, ...

Samsung Electronics reports Q3 financial results, chips compensating for unimpressive mobile sales

Right on cue, Samsung Electronics released the consolidated financial results for the third quarter of 2018. The results show how each subdivision of Samsung Electronics has performed over the last three months in terms of revenue and profits, as well as the overall results for the quarter.

Looking at the global picture, Samsung has earned itself a pat on the back, improving on its sales total with more than 5%, reaching $57.46 billion. More importantly, however, the company’s consolidated profits are up 20.9% from Q2 of 2018, hitting $15.41 billion.

Beyond the dry numbers, ...

Xiaomi-owned Poco brand thinks you shouldn't 'settle' for the 'OverPriced' OnePlus 6T

The OnePlus name is still essentially unknown to the US smartphone consumer masses, but in markets like India, the ambitious startup is already a force to be reckoned with. If you needed further evidence that was the case, the regional leader in overall shipments may have just supplied it in the form of an aggressive OnePlus 6T-trolling marketing campaign.

Technically, it's the Xiaomi-owned Poco brand that's behind this recent series of publicity stunts rather than the parent company. But it's pretty obvious the world's fourth-largest smartphone vendor is taking OnePlus as seriously ...

Nokia 3, 5 and 6 confirmed to receive Android Pie updates soon

HMD Global announced early this month that four smartphones will be updated to Android Pie by the end of November: Nokia 6.1, Nokia 6.1 Plus, Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Sirocco. If the company keeps its promise, it will have at least five smartphones running Android Pie since Nokia 7 Plus already received the update.

Today, the handset maker confirmed another set of three Nokia-branded smartphones will be updated to Android Pie: Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. However, they will most likely get the update after the first wave of devices that have already been confirmed at the beginning of the month.

That's ...

Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo update brings AR Emoji support, November security patch

It appears that Samsung plans to bring AR Emoji, a feature limited to flagship devices, to budget-friendly phones, and the first to get it is the Galaxy J7 Duo. Almost all recent high-end Samsung smartphones have already received this update, so it kind of makes sense to bring AR Emoji to other devices and the Galaxy J7 seems like a good choice.

Samsung Galaxy J7 (2018) is already available for purchase in the United States, although the update released recently is aimed at the dual-SIM version. Even so, there's a high chance that the single-SIM variant will be getting the update as well.

Speaking ...

Apple stops WatchOS 5.1 update rollout following reports of bricked Apple Watch devices

Apple has temporarily stopped the rollout of the WatchOS 5.1 update. The patch was released right after the conclusion of Apple's October 30 event, but the company is now reevaluating things following reports of bricked devices emerging from 9to5Mac, Reddit and Twitter.

The issue is affecting some Apple Watch Series 4 units. If you happen to own one of these and have only downloaded the patch, do not proceed with installing it. Apple has also released an official statement on the matter:

Due to a small number of Apple Watch customers ...

The BlackBerry KEY2 LE is back in stock at Amazon

The BlackBerry KEY2 LE is back in stock at Amazon after being sold out. The KEY2 LE has many of the same features found on the higher priced KEY2, but enough corners have been cut to allow the device to be sold close to $200 cheaper at $449.99. While this is a GSM device, which means that it works on AT&T and T-Mobile, surprisingly it does also work with Verizon.

In case the specs have escaped your mind, the BlackBerry KEY2 LE features a 4.5-inch LCD display with a 1080 x 1620 resolution. The Snapdragon 636 Mobile Platform is under the hood along with 4GB of RAM ...

Helium may be a gas, but it's no fun for Apple iPhone and Apple Watch users

In the Apple iPhone User Guide is a section that states "Exposing iPhone to environments having high concentrations of industrial chemicals, including near evaporating liquified gasses such as helium, may damage or impair iPhone functionality. … If your device has been affected and shows signs of not powering on, the device can typically be recovered. Leave the unit unconnected from a charging cable and let it air out for approximately one week."

As mentioned in the iFixit.org blog, this was borne out by several incidents at Morris Hospital near Chicago during the ...

Apple now offers a USB-C to headphone jack dongle for the new iPad Pro

Three years after removing the popular feature from its smartphone lineup, Apple today unveiled a brand-new pair of iPad Pro models that, rather unsurprisingly, lack headphone jacks.

Due to this decision, Apple has added a new USB-C to 3.5mm headphone jack dongle to its online store at a cost of $9. However, users shouldn’t count on receiving one free in the box. After all, the Cupertino-based company quietly removed all headphone dongles from its iPhone boxes last month and the new iPad Pros are no different. This means that those of you who wish to use wired headphones will need to ...

EA confirms Command & Conquer: Rivals launches on Android and iOS on December 4

Unveiled back in June, Command & Conquer: Rivals mobile game will be released on Android and iOS devices on December 4, EA confirmed earlier today in a press release.

A beta version of Command & Conquer: Rivals is already available to play via Google Play Store, so you can try it out for free. As EA points out, this is real-time strategy action game specially designed for phones and tablets.

Apparently, EA plans to turn Command & Conquer: Rivals into its next competitive gaming franchise to roll out a complete competitive program, including community tournaments and a ...

Gmail now features unified inbox to view multiple accounts on iOS

Google has finally brought unified inbox view for multiple accounts to iOS devices, most probably due to necessity rather than based on users feedback. If you have multiple Gmail accounts, you can now view email from all of them in the Gmail iOS app.

This particular feature is already available to Gmail users on Android for quite some time now, but it's nice that Google is making it available to iOS users as well, even though later than we would have expected.

An update should be rolling out to iOS devices over the coming weeks. Once you get the update, simply select the “All Inboxes” ...

Apple's WatchOS 5.1 update is bricking some Apple Watch devices

The Apple Watch Series 4

Straight after its Brooklyn event earlier today, Apple began rolling the WatchOS 5.1 update to its range of Apple Watches. The software activates the ECG feature on Series 4 models in the US and also introduces support for 70 new emojis and Group FaceTime but, from the looks of things, not everyone is having luck with the new software.

As spotted by 9To5Mac, a number of users across both Reddit and Twitter have begun reporting issues with the update. More specifically, it appears the latest WatchOS version is ...
