Apple has temporarily stopped the rollout of the WatchOS 5.1 update. The patch was released right after the conclusion of Apple's October 30 event, but the company is now reevaluating things following reports of bricked devices emerging from 9to5Mac, Reddit and Twitter.
The issue is affecting some Apple Watch Series 4 units. If you happen to own one of these and have only downloaded the patch, do not proceed with installing it. Apple has also released an official statement on the matter:
