Official invite shows a previously unseen Asus ZenFone 4 device, launch set for August 17

An invitation popped up earlier for the launch of Asus' long-awaited ZenFone 4 line, and according to it the unveiling date was scheduled for August 19. However, the original source has since been taken down and replaced by a second, different invitation (shown above), whose supporting text suggests an August 17 date for the launch event instead.

Front and center here is the company's new Asia Pacific brand ambassador, actor Gong Yoo, who has previously been teased in a contest on Asus Taiwan's Facebook page. So seeing as the company has gone to such ...

Leaked Note 8 vs iPhone 8 screen protectors size up the eventual dimensions

Look, Ma, prematurely released screen protectors! The accessory industry, restless as it is, has already churned out cases and screen protectors for both the upcoming Note 8, and Apple's "all-screen" iPhone 8. We've seen those sad, alone, and separate from each other, but someone has had the brilliant idea to put them together, and snap a photo for the next generations to gawk at. In the best of scenarios, pre-release accessories are based on leaked CADs and other schematics from the supply chain, rather than just rumors and guesstimates, so they approximate the real thing to a great extent.

Looking ahead: any Moto Mod you buy now will be supported by the Moto Z3, but maybe not the Z4

Motorola introduced its modular concept with the Moto Z and Moto Z Force back in 2016. Shortly after unveiling the phones and the shell-shaped mods for them, the company also announced that and Moto Mods that come out for the Moto Z will also be compatible with 2017 phone models as well.

And, of course, if you drop $100 or so per module, you'd like to know that you will be able to still use it even if you upgrade your phone, right? Makes good sense. But what about next year?

Motorola has officially confirmed that the Moto Mods will have “three generations ...

According to the dedicated distribution section of Apple's support page, a whole lot of 87% of all active iOS devices worldwide were running iOS 10, Apple's latest official version of the operating system, as of July 28, 2017.

Furthermore, around 3% of all devices are powered by an earlier version of the operating system.

Meanwhile, ...

Apple's HomePod firmware is the gift that keeps on giving when it comes to divulging information about the upcoming iPhone 8. Yesterday, we were treated to the general outline of the handset, and, now that developer Steven-Troughton Smith has done a deeper dive in the code, a few more interesting details have emerged.

Here is the Galaxy Note 8 from all four sides, complete with S Pen and a new color option

It's been a few hours since leakster extraordinaire Evan Blass gave us a look at what was possibly the first official render of Samsung's next flagship phablet, the Galaxy Note 8 — but it seems he wasn't done leaking just yet. In a new tweet (embedded below), he has shared the device's design from four sides, with the inclusion of a previously unseen color option and the first render of the device's version of the S Pen.

What we can see in the renders is hardly surprising, though, considering the Note 8 has been following in the Galaxy S8's footsteps ...
