Apple kept fans of compact tablets waiting for a new iPad mini generation almost four whole years, but perhaps the most disappointing thing about the company's early 2019-released 7.9-incher is how similar it looks to the 2015 edition on the outside. The two share not only a general design language, but also the exact same physical dimensions, build materials, and outdated Touch ID fingerprint sensor.
