Galaxy A54 - Samsung now makes cheaper phones worse to get people to spend more on Galaxy S23?

Everything Everywhere All at Once is going wrong with the new Galaxy A54, which looks older than a 2019 Samsung and seems to be performing worse than the $300 A34. Is Samsung's new mid-ranger a downgrade?
