2017 is shaping up to be the year we hit "AI" assistant overload


The big push in tech is to make every gadget "smart" in some way or another and in mobile that often means throwing some sort of "artificially intelligent" assistant, or to be more accurate -- voice powered assistants -- because manufacturers are going way overboard using the term AI despite apparently not understanding (or believing consumers don't understand) what that means. 

Just to get the language squared away: At the top of the heap is an "artificial general intelligence" (AGI) or "virtual intelligence", which can learn anything, think abstractly, ...
