DIY battery replacement kits for iPhone 6 or later cut to $29 by iFixit



Yesterday, Apple apologized for throttling the CPU on models like the Apple iPhone 6 or later. After numerous models shutdown last year, unable to complete complex tasks, Apple deduced that the problem was the lack of power remaining in the older batteries inside these units. So iOS 10.2.1 was pushed out, designed to use power management (code for throttling) to slow down the CPU. This would prevent the affected iPhone from shutting down.

In its apology, which was posted on the Apple website, the company said that one of the steps it is taking to regain the trust of iPhone users ...
