Apple completely took us by surprise with the early April announcement of the Beats-branded Powerbeats Pro wireless earphones, which improved a number of key things about the AirPods that were refreshed just a couple of weeks before. Of course, the price point was also jacked up from as little as $159 to a somewhat prohibitive 250 bucks.
Even though the sporty headphones started selling around a month after their formal debut and several decent budget-friendly alternatives saw daylight since then, there were no discounts to note at major retailers, let alone the official US Beats ...
