Shortly after implying that the upcoming Galaxy A 2017 series would include water-resistant phones, Samsung today confirmed the name of the new series, as well as the date of its announcement.

Thanks to an invite sent to the press by Samsung Malaysia, we now know that the Galaxy A 2017 family will be officially announced on January 5 - that's next week.
