Qualcomm just took us for surprise at the MWC 2018 expo booth, and announced its newest Snapdragon 700 system-on-a-chip. The SoC brings many of the features that the flagship 800-series commands downmarket, such as 2x faster on-device AI, compared to the current cream of the midrange crop, the Snapdragon 660.
The new 700-series will also bring the excellent Qualcomm Spectra camera ISP to the midrange, complete with slow-motion and real-time HDR shenanigans, all things that used to be reserved for the premium tier. In addition, it will be made on a lower production ...
